This course will cover the broad spectrum of diagnostic dermatopathology including dedicated sessions to melanocytic tumors, cutaneous mesenchymal neoplasms, cutaneous lymphomas and histiocytoses and inflammatory conditions. Using a case-based didactic approach, our expert faculty will emphasize important diagnostic challenges and pitfalls and provide practical tools to safely navigate them.In addition, there will be a focus on novel entities and recent developments in the fields of immunohistochemistry and molecular pathology as an adjunct to the morphologic diagnosis.
Learning ObjectivesUpon completion of this educational activity, learners will be able to:
- Understand the wide morphologic spectrum of cutaneous tumors and associated diagnostic challenges.
- Learn about recent developments in dermatopathology.
- Learn to integrate clinical information and ancillary tests for a better and more precise diagnosis.
- Understand the appropriate use and limitations of immunofluorescence testing in dermatopathology.
